The new building is magnificently located on one of the hills surrounding the UTM campus in Skudai. IIS is a building of a central laboratory and administrative complex (approximately 4000 square metre) which is occupied beginning of October 2003. The layout consist the first floor, which resides the Director’s and Deputy Director’s rooms, the administrative partitions, central meeting room, resource centre, VIP rest room, seminar rooms, printing room and the prayers room. The second floor occupies the Programme Chairmen rooms, theatrettes and various well-equipped laboratories of all the programmes. The third floor houses the rooms for IIS permanent staff, visiting professors, researchers and postgraduates.

Whether it is a departmental retreat for 30 participants or a conference, seminar or workshop for 200, your guests will enjoy the spectacular view and the tranquil setting that the IIS building offers all year round. During breaks, your guests will enjoy a leisurely stroll through vantage points around the building and up one of the hills surrounding the UTM campus, over looking some picturesque views. Meeting and conference facilities available including the Lecture Theatre, Boardroom and Seminar Room.

Boardroom: With an impressive furnishing, the boardroom is suitable for committee meetings, seminars, small receptions and workshops.
Seminar Room
Seminar Room: The seminar rooms offer casual or serious seating for up to 30 people featuring certain working ambience perfect for small meetings, breakouts or intimate gathering.
Lecture Theatre
Lecture Theatre: The main lecture theatre, with its modern features, provides lecture style seating for 200, whiles the other theatre can be transformed to customize your needs, i.e. it can be used for lecture style seating for 200 or banquet style seating for 150. These theatres are suitable for your next conference, departmental retreat, workshop and training session or seasonal celebration.
